    Getting started with Synoptec

    So how do you get started with Synoptec?  Our suggestion is to start with a small pilot implementation of 4-5 surgeons and 1 or 2 administrators.  Why?  Our experience shows that starting with a small implementation allows you to be agile during that most critical startup phase.

    A small group of dedicated individuals allows you to move from concept to production within just a few months.

    With Synoptec installed and the application administrators trained by Softworks staff, the process of creating or adapting the synoptic reports to your need can start.  This is really where a small pilot project has an advantage over a larger full blown implementation.

    While there are content providers for Synoptec (Zynx Health, Map of Medicine, Cancer Surgery Alberta), you will likely need to make changes to support local processes/requirements and come up with some of your own before you're ready for use throughout your environment.  The ability to be agile through the inevitable changes in the synoptic reporting templates and care pathway templates will make the process much simpler.
