Synoptec External Case Documents
The case document viewer in Synoptec allows you to view case documents created in Synoptec (synoptic reports, case notes and letters) and also documents from external sources. In order to support clinical decisions it is often helpful to have all of the documents available in a single view. Synoptec can import and display documents in common document formats including PDF (portable document format), PNG (image - portable network graphic) and JPG images. Future support for DICOM images, audio and video files and office documents are planned.
How do these documents get into the system? There are two ways for these documents to be loaded into the case. The most automated method is for documents from upstream systems to be delivered to Synoptec using HL7 messaging. With the patient or case identifier, the document is automatically linked to the patient.
If the documents are not available through an automated interface, support staff can quickly add documents to the case by browsing to them manually and adding them.
