    Synoptec

“Synoptic : affording a general view of a whole; manifesting or characterized by comprehensiveness or breadth of view.”    Merriam-Webster 2010

Synoptec allows clinicians to design synoptic templates and care pathways that measure outcomes, improve quality of care, streamline workflow, and deliver accurate information to regional and national reporting systems.

Evidence has shown that narrative or transcribed surgical, pathology and diagnostic imaging reports occasionally lack important elements critical to the management of patients  and that synoptic reporting increases the likelihood that all elements will be reported and understood.  The benefits shown from groups that have implemented a synoptic reporting system include increased completion of critical elements, development of surgical/procedural checklists and increased efficiency in getting the reports signed off.

Synoptec provides clinicians and the multidisciplinary care team a tool to manage the care pathway of patients through journey of medicine and to provide synoptic reports at any stage of the pathway.

Synoptec produces synoptic templates to be used by clinicians and their team to report on tasks that have been completed during patient care.

Synoptec ensure patient care is consistent and timely by producing tasks and alerts when key steps in the care path are not completed within defined targets.  It also allows administrators to provide reporting and correspondence to key stakeholders in the patient care and provide integration with terminology standards such as SNOMED-CT, ICD-9, ICD-10.
